A note-taking tool works well, but some features don’t quite meet my needs. What should I do?

On Knowledge Planet, a user named “Sun and Moon Rain Road” posed the following query:

Prof. Wang, I need some advice:

I’ve previously come across your share on the note-taking tool, Logseq. I was impressed by its bidirectional links and diary features, so I promptly ditched Evernote. Over the past few months, I’ve gradually migrated all my old notes to Logseq. However, I’ve run into an issue:

Since all my files are deployed locally (mainly on my Mac at home), it’s not particularly convenient to install Logseq on my work computer. It’s also inappropriate to synchronize some of my personal files and diaries with my work machine (I’ve tried iCloud sync, but it’s slow and cumbersome on mobile).

This leads to problems at work:

  • When I have good ideas, I can’t immediately input them into Logseq. I have to jot them down somewhere else, like WPS, and then sync them when I get home.
  • I can’t search through my old notes for reference while at the office.
