How to Use AI for Deep, Systematic Literature Review?

This is the first time I’ve truly felt that AI possesses this level of academic professionalism.

Pain Points

In the two years since ChatGPT emerged, I’ve put a lot of effort into using and experimenting with AI for “literature reviews” or “literature surveys”.

As a matter of fact, I just did a quick search in my knowledge base (which includes articles from my public account and knowledge planet), and it listed a series of AI applications for literature review, all of which I’ve written about before.

The reason I keep exploring is that these applications haven’t truly met my goals. Their “reviews” and “syntheses” are mostly superficial — usually extracting titles, abstracts, keywords, and other “book cover” information, and then trying to summarize the entire article with them. Personally, I don’t think this is sufficient to delve into the connections between literature, and it fails to depict the cutting-edge landscape of a research direction.
