Challenge

During this past winter break, with the widespread adoption of AI driven by Deepseek R1, various industries have truly felt the power of AI, and I believe you have experienced it as well. However, in my opinion, the challenges faced by the education sector are even more pressing.

At the beginning of the new semester, the first thing many teachers say when they meet is: β€œHow are we going to teach this course anymore?” I previously shared with you that it is already quite common for students to use AI to complete exercises and assignments, and I discussed the countermeasures teachers can take. In fact, at that time, the popularity of AI was far less than it is now. And this time, AI is unstoppable, and this torrent is profoundly changing the traditional education model.

I have repeatedly emphasized in many previous articles and videos: If AI can be used correctly, it is indeed a powerful helper for us; but if used improperly, it may become a β€œgunman” for cheating.

Letting AI act as a gunman is really undesirable. It will send wrong signals to both educators and those being educated, delaying the cultivation and shaping of people. To promote the transformation of AI from a β€œgunman” to a true β€œhelper”, the key lies in establishing a correct understanding of AI and using truly appropriate tools.

Some students lack a basic understanding of the capabilities of large models, directly asking them to search for papers, and even requesting the latest research results published this year. The results may seem reasonable on the surface, but in fact, they may be unsubstantiated nonsense.
