Anxiety

In the article “AI Research Has Won the Nobel Prize, Where Will Ordinary Researchers Go?,” I shared my thoughts on the impact of the current wave of AI technology on society — the future has arrived, but it’s not evenly distributed.

Many individuals, unaware of the transformative potential of AI, believe it doesn’t concern them and continue living their lives in a carefree manner. However, once they realize the significance of AI, anxiety sets in.

This anxiety stems from the struggle and contemplation of how to maintain or even enhance one’s competitive advantage amid significant changes in the external technological landscape.

This is a serious matter; just ask the translators and illustrators around you. There’s no need for debate; I know some of them are thriving, even more so than before. But it’s more prudent to discard “survivor bias” and consider a broader range of circumstances.

The list of “affected roles” has already expanded and will keep growing. Suddenly, you may find that the skills you have meticulously honed over the years are no longer essential for meeting user demands. That…
